Overview
A 5-night, 6-day private car tour of Himachal Pradesh from Chandigarh, covering Shimla — the “Queen of Hills,” known for its colonial heritage and scenic charm — and Manali, a popular hill-station base for both sightseeing and optional adventure activities. The itinerary balances heritage walks, temple visits, and scenic drives with optional add-on experiences like Solang Valley adventure sports and the Atal Tunnel.
ITINERARY
After pickup from Chandigarh Airport/Railway Station, drive to Shimla and check into the pre-booked hotel. After freshening up, explore Jakhu Temple, the Viceregal Lodge and botanical gardens, and on foot: The Mall, Scandal Point, the Ridge, Gaiety Theatre, the Heritage Museum, Lakkar Bazaar, Rani Jhansi Park, and Christ Church. Overnight stay in Shimla.
After breakfast, a day trip to Kufri, home to the Himalayan Wildlife Zoo (Himalayan Monal, felines, birds, rare antelopes) and Kufri Fun Park (entry and activities at own cost). Return to Shimla for overnight stay.
Check out after breakfast and drive to Manali, stopping en route at the Vaishno Devi Temple in Kullu, Hanogi Tunnel, Pandoh Dam, and Sundar Nagar Lake. Check into hotel in Manali for overnight stay.
After breakfast, visit Hadimba Devi Temple and Ghatotkacha Temple, followed by Vashisht Hot Springs & Clubhouse. In the evening, explore Manali’s local market, the Tibetan Monastery, and IBEX Market. Overnight stay in Manali.
A choice of two options after breakfast — Solang Valley (15 km from Manali), offering seasonal adventure activities (paragliding, cable car ropeway, zorbing, snow scooter, skiing, horse riding, a short trek to Anjani Mahadev) plus a Clubhouse with skating, zip line, and table tennis; or a drive through the Atal Tunnel — one of the world’s highest tunnels, gateway to Lahaul & Spiti — with a photo stop at the North Portal (at extra cost). Return to Manali for overnight stay.
Check out and drive back to Chandigarh, stopping en route at Pashmina shawl showrooms in Kullu, with optional white-water river rafting and paragliding available along the way.
